A trip down Hannah Road

Well we survived our very first home staging project. When I got the call from a real estate office in Friday Harbor, WA., all I could come up to say was, "How did you hear about me?" I wasn't even finished building my website. I had no portfoio to speak of. She said, "Well, you came up on Google." See, I used to be quite the rockstar in SEO back in the day. Apparently, I still have it!

Anyway, she mentioned that the home was in the process of new paint and carpet so it was a couple weeks out. I was recovering from a septoplasty and looked like someone beat me up. Sounding like I had a sock in my throat and my nose taped with gauze, I said, "I'd be happy to do it!"

It was then that she sent me a link from when it was listed previously. I almost fell over when I saw tha it had been listed for $4.5 million! At this point, I had already jumped in with both feet. I remembered something my husband had said just days before. "The answer must be 'Yes'."

So I'll share a little video of the great room. When you walk down the hall from the front door and enter this grand space, it's almost as if you are walking outside. Ceiling to floor glass from one end of the house to the other. It needed just the right couch. It needed just the perfect dining table. And there was a gorgeous nook made of marble that was built to encase just the perfect buffet. And right next to it, there is a water feature. Yes, a water feature in the living room. Absolutely stunning.

I forgot to mention that I had no inventory whatsoever. I searched and searched for the perfect pieces to stage this space. And all I kept looking at was the brand new pieces I had right here in my home. I couldn't. Could I? No one ever sits on this couch. It's clean. It's size and color are perfect, with the softest of italian leather. Sure! Why not? After all, the answer can't be "No". So I ordered new cambric, tipped it up on it's side. My husband and I replaced the entire bottom of the couch to make it even more pristine than it was.

It was perfect. Here's a little video clip of heaven on San Juan Island.

I’ll add some of the other videos from the home here as well over the coming days. At this time, the MLS isn’t showing the interior so I will wait to post it when it is.
